Saint Martin is one island separated into two countries split North and South. The northern French side is known as Saint Martin and the southern Dutch side is known as Sint Maarten. On the dutch side is Maho Beach which is famous for the proximity to the airport and the flight path leading to extraordinary pictures of planes descending within close proximity to the beach.
Home to one of the world's steepest zip lines located on the Rockland estate on the Dutch side of the island.

There are two main airports, Princess Juliana International airport (SXM) is on the Dutch side Sint Maarten and is the busier of the two with connections to US cities and Amsterdam. Grand Case airport on the French side has connections to neighbouring islands. For visitors from the UK the best route would be via Miami and then a 2hr 30 minutes flight from there.

July to September are the hotter months on Saint Martin with an average high of 32C although the cooler months of December to March average 29C. Like most Caribbean islands the rainfall increases towards the end of the year with the driest month being March.
