A fusion of culture between French and Caribbean Martinique can be seen as a little taste of France in a hotter location. The island is home to the Mount Pelee volcano which is a prime location for hiking and erupted last in 1902. Martinique also has no shortage of postcard beaches including Plage des Salines in the south, Anse Mitan to the South West which is located in an area of bars, restaurants and shops.
