Rather than the feline equivalent Cat Island is supposedly named after an infamous pirate Arthur Catt. There is a lot of nature & culture to explore on this island which is relatively unspoiled and is the location of the highest point in the Bahamas at only 206 feet, Mount Alvernia.

    There are two airports on Cat Island - Arthur's Town Airport (ATC) and New Bight Airport (TBI) with the main route being Nassau to Cat Island or via private charters.

    The Bahamas experiences a cooler, dryer period between November to March (28C) and a hotter, wetter period between June and October with August being the wettest month with over 150mm of rain however the sunshine is never too far away even in stormy days. Each island varies slightly depending on it's location in the chain.
